Nice use of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Flash!

I like using these three programs in conjunction, too.

One tip: Reduce the size of the final animation by vectorizing some of your raster images. It's not a good habit to get into when your animation comprises lots of raster images, which would lose no quality as vector drawings. It's better to reserve raster artwork for special effects, such as smoke, fire, or other related atmospheric effects, not as main characters.

You should have converted to vector format...

Flash has an auto trace feature. Or, the original vector drawings should have remained in Flash, and Photoshop/After Effects visuals should have been imported as bitmaps (PNGs, to be precise).

It's nice to see you've entered the realm of 3d!

A hint for next time: Use Flash's autotrace function to vectorize each frame of the animation. You'd remain within size constraints, and besides, arificially "vectorized" 3 dimensional Flash animations are neat.

Horridly slow...

...and horridly short. One character stands motionless, the other character punches him, and the procedure repeats.

Why was this so large?

Pointless, yet...

Excellent drawings, music, and humor (especially the inclusion of George Bush under the "approval" section). But a zero for content and purpose, and without those, an animation is nothing.

Merely Okay...

Your Flash style is certainly unique, but the characters/environments lack fine detail. Your backgrounds are (presumably :-) ) intended to appear three-dimensional, but your characters (as well as some environments) epitomize the unrealistic "flatist" artistic style popular in the mid-20th century. Take more care with your drawings (I.E., add textures, correct perspective distortions), and this would become Top 50 material.

Nevertheless, your animations have a certain "magnetic aura," if you will: I have watched "Auf Achse" seven times!

AligatorHead responds:

thanks, thankyou thankyou. That makes so much sense, add texture wow thankyou.

Compression killed it...

Next time, use a macro to automatically "vectorize" each frame. JPEG compression ruined an otherwise excellent (albeit somewhat pointless) short.

I saw this as an Alpha...

...and was thoroughly impressed!

Nice combination of Frame-by-Frame animation and tweening!

cherrorist responds:

Thanx :) I learned a lot making this one.

Sound...

Try setting sound to "stream," rather than begin on "event."

Otherwise, very good!

Excellent!

Excellent abstract Flash style! It looks very Japanese.
